Battling competitors with huge budgets, an 80-year-old local credit union turned to Brew for assistance with their first foray into consumer advertising.
BREW’S Approach
After eight decades, Baton Rouge Telco Federal Credit Union took a new approach to marketing in 2018. The company partnered with Brew to target consumers directly to grow new memberships and increase deposits, which ultimately increases loans. Our goals were to increase brand awareness among a highly targeted demographic and establish a differentiating position to increase new memberships and deposits.
Aided by client research and data, we narrowed the target audience and chose to utilize radio, out-of-home, and digital media. We created an energetic and upbeat video concept that used custom animated illustrations to walk the viewer through important life moments from buying a car and graduating college to getting engaged and tackling home renovations. No matter where its members are on their financial journey, Telco wants to be there to help them achieve their goals–always looking for more ways to say, “Yes!” Although the campaign ran for just five months, it led to a 39% increase in online loan applications and 41% increase in online account opening applications. Overall, the campaign accounted for a year-over-year increase of 32.95% in new product openings and a 28% growth in direct memberships.
