The LSU Pre-College Summer Academy is a 3-week residential program designed to offer a true college experience for rising 9th-12th grade students. Participants explore a major of their interest while expanding their knowledge in their chosen discipline and experiencing collegiate life on LSU’s campus. Since the target demographic for the program was high school students we focused on spreading the word through social media and email campaigns with an emphasis on fun and social activities.
The first phase of the campaign required that we generate enough awareness and interest to justify continuing the program. By the end of the campaign, we surpassed their registration goals even among many changes required due to COVID-19. We ended up switching gears to react and promote a virtual program after in-person contact was limited.
